You are not limited to use these as a jewellery item,
I used these metal cutters to cut off the loop so I could just use the LOVE word in my mosaics and jewellery. Easily rectified and they look great!!!!
Later I found using a small pair of pliers does the same job. You can file the edges it leaves, or if you are embedding in Apoxie Sculpt or thinset or mastic, you won't even see the edge...
You could paint them with an enamel paint, or with nail polish as I did in the third photo. Don't grout them if you painted them.
