One only- pictured from different angles, this lovely Magnesite stone is beautifully green and shiny. There are a couple of natural divots in this piece adding to its beauty. 6.0cm x 4.5cm. 80 grams. indiv ts4.
Magnesite is found in the Eastern Goldfields area of Western Australia in a belt of ultramafic rocks. It occurs in many of the same locations as Chrysoprase. It occurs as veins and plates but also commonly occurs in nodular form.
In Western Australia most Magnesite is white, however in certain locations the presence of nickel mineralisation is responsible for the green colour found in Citron Chrysoprase or Lemon Magnesite.
This would be a great addition to a special tumble stone collection. Great gift for that friend who loves rocks, or great to use in mosaics by adding a focal with some height and shiny texture..... only limited by your imagination.
