Tess-Array

There really is a difference in the finished mosaic when you are using tesserae with matt surfaces as opposed to shiny surface tile. It does take a bit of adjustment. I just made a little Rainbow Tea Tray and The Rock Guy is saying he doesn't like it, and black grout was the wrong choice for that piece. I don't actually agree with him, because I like black grout, I like it with every colour. But grouting with any matt surface tile is going to be different than if it were shiny. It's been one of those mornings when I have been dumbfounded, knocked for a 6! I've been muttering over and over to myself, ..how can I have not known this before now. ??????? Why isn't this information being shared around...?????? Why didn't anyone tell me? Maybe in the back of my mind is a distant memory, -I think of Shirley Fralick in Canada saying to use them for grout haze, but obviously I didn't, and I hadn't used them until now...... Sooooooo.... Yep, i've got it. I've got it bad! I've always loved rainbows. What's not to love about colours harmoniously arranged by Mother Nature. I love to replicate rainbows. My studio is set up like a rainbow. (I'll take some photos later to show you...) My bookcase is set up like a rainbow... here's a pic of it... and now I am making some rainbows for the garden.... I am in the studio "playing" with a new project which I've started a few times, and had in my mind for a while. At this stage I am working out what materials I like together, what looks good to me. I'm using some polished cut Noreena Jasper we mine, that I have tapped with a hammer into smaller pieces. Originally this piece had 5 large slabs of Noreena in it, and now it only has one slab broken into 8 pieces.
